Europe Room: How about a little more?

09/01/2022

At the beginning of December, an extensive Whitemilk crew went to the Egmont Palace in Brussels to provide the Europe Room with a completely new audiovisual installation. Imagine the Europe Room as a gigantic meeting room with 440 seats, 28 interpretation booths and a control room. We worked full power to create a well-thought-out integration with often custom-made material. A project in collaboration with Inetum-Realdolmen, assigned by the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The renovation included a changeover of all network and power cabling for AV use. We installed the Extron NAV AV-over-IP system, a new discussion system (including interpretation) with extended possibilities, a new camera system and an audio set-up with QSC WL series line array. The room is easy to manage from both the chairperson’s post as the control room. Hybrid video conferences and event streaming are now possible, and the 28 interpretation booths have been updated.

We were able to meet the extremely tight timing thanks to our cooperation with suppliers such as Televic, who not only delivered in time, but also produced to order. With 200 Unicos units this is one of the largest Televic Multimedia projects in Belgium.

After the Europe Room, the rest of a complete audiovisual renewal of the Egmont Palace is scheduled. All halls are prepared for a hybrid future with standardised and user-friendly systems.
