High-end voltage at DKE

A new building offers a fresh start, full of exciting possibilities. When we’re involved early, we can shape the AV integration from the ground up. Last summer, DKE relocated to a new site in Kluisbergen. The team’s and guests’ favourite spot? The versatile second floor.

DKE specialises in high-voltage installations and electrical engineering projects for the industry. Their new location integrates all their expertise, including a high-voltage cabin positioned in front of the building.

For Whitemilk, the project began in autumn 2023. We developed a concept for the meeting rooms, several offices, strategically placed screens, and the showpiece in the penthouse, featuring a multifunctional room on one side and a bar with rooftop terrace on the other.

A DIY approach

A company with expertise in electricity and networking can handle most of our materials with great professionalism. So, this collaboration took a unique approach. Whitemilk supervised, configured the rack, and managed programming, while DKE handled installation and networking. It’s not our usual way of working, but in this case, it made perfect sense.

In the summer of 2024, the office spaces relocated after the warehouse and large stock had already moved into the new building.

‘Our meeting rooms are incredibly user-friendly,’ says junior project manager Alexandre Filippov. ‘ClickShare makes it really easy to run a Teams meeting with clients, where you need to share plans or diagrams. The audio connects instantly. The camera zooms in on the speaker. A great experience for participants both in the meeting room and remote. All Whitemilk devices and systems operate on a separate network, allowing visitors to use them.’

Keeping technicians informed

Screens in both the warehouse and the coffee area display essential team information.

‘We wanted to share an up-to-date schedule with the team at all times. Until recently, technicians would come to the planner’s desk at the end of the day to find out where they were headed the next morning. But that wasn’t practical, and schedules often change—even in the evening. Now, a screen in the coffee corner displays the schedule when technicians wrap up their day with a debrief. Another screen in the warehouse allows for a quick check before departure. Our technicians leave as early as 5 a.m., long before the offices and coffee area open,’ Alexandre explains.

The cherry on top

The highlight of the new location is the top floor. ‘We use it for internal presentations, monthly toolbox meetings, lunch breaks, Friday drinks, or even watching cycling races on the big screen. But the space is also fully designed and engineered for external rental. The lift and access control system allow it to be completely separated from our offices and workshop,’ says Alexandre. ‘Everything is finished to the highest standard: full-floor audio, projection in the conference room, blackout blinds, a large display in the bar, easy-to-use control panels… It’s a great place to host clients and a fantastic asset for the team.’

For those wondering, DKE stands for De Keyser Elektrotechniek—and yes, that surname belongs to our managing director. If you browse the company’s history (Historiek ), you won’t find his first name, but you will see those of his father and brother.
