Undoubtedly the most advanced auditorium in Belgium

15/10/2024

Without a doubt

UZA, the Antwerp University Hospital, is brimming with clinical expertise and continues to invest in education, research, and innovation. Presenting: an auditorium that is over 40 years old, yet equipped with the most advanced technology to date.

Auditorium Kinsbergen has undergone a high-tech, user-friendly transformation. In this video (in Dutch), Professor Marc Peeters, CEO of UZA, and Jan De Keyser, CEO of Whitemilk, give us a tour.

Today, an auditorium gathering goes far beyond the typical lecture, where a professor is occasionally interrupted by a question from the audience that no one can hear. Far beyond. At least in Auditorium Kinsbergen.

Whitemilk and team UZA pushed the limits of time while integrating:

  • VIDEO: The Wall, a Samsung 4K LED display
  • AUDIO: with the Shure voice lift system, there’s no need for a microphone or headset – everyone can hear and be heard. Professional sound reinforcement is provided by L-Acoustics.
  • CENTRALISED CONTROL: AV-over-IP through Q-SYS, featuring AI-powered PTZ camera tracking (Seervision).

Technology simplifies communication—that's always the starting point. In this case, not just within the auditorium, but also beyond: with the faculty, the rest of the world, and, most notably, the operating rooms. Surgeries are streamed to the auditorium in razor-sharp detail and with the highest sound quality.

Puzzles were laid. Challenges such as time and age were tackled. The best brands were chosen—they are the easiest to integrate and are ready to grow with the future.

And ultimately, as Jan De Keyser puts it, this is “without doubt the most technologically advanced auditorium in Belgium.”

The future of the auditorium is the future of the university hospital.

Prof.dr. Marc Peeters, CEO UZA

"We are making great efforts to bring all health partners in the region together. The most important thing is that this technology allows us to connect with one another. Connection – that’s what I strive for."
