ISE Boardroom TOP 5

17/02/2025

The dust has settled after another incredibly busy edition of ISE in Barcelona. As always, we were there to network—this year, in theory, with a record-breaking 85,351 attendees. We didn’t meet them all, of course, as we also took the time to explore the latest technologies.

Here’s our top five for the boardroom.

1. AI speaker tracking

Technology that makes remote participants feel physically present in any meeting room has been evolving for some time. ISE expanded on this innovation with further advancements.

Enter AI camera automation (e.g. the award-winning Seervision software, and Crestron Automate VX).

This technology fully automates PTZ camera control. Using scene analysis, full-body tracking, and microphone input, the software determines precisely what the cameras should do.

Multiple cameras, no production crew required, indeed. The system seamlessly and quickly switches between speakers with clean cuts, offering close-ups or wider views.

From any perspective, the experience is efficient. No one misses out on the natural flow of conversation or non-verbal cues like expressions, gestures, and reactions.

2. 360° from the centre of the table

Imagine a close-up that feels like you’re sitting at the table, meeting the speaker’s gaze along with everyone else. The centre-of-table device has become indispensable—a 360° camera capturing whoever is speaking.

Our favourites:

Yealink MTower: A centre-view camera with AI-powered Best-View Switching, toggling between front and centre views.

Logitech Sight: A tabletop companion camera with intelligent multi-participant framing, designed for front-and-centre views.

Poly Studio E360: Featuring four 8MP cameras, Poly DirectorAI multi-camera, and four MEMS microphones.

Neat Center: A front-and-centre companion device, Red Dot Winner 2024.

3. More Multi-Cam

Although smart software and hardware allow us to configure fully customised multi-camera systems with precision, we’re also fans of the award-winning Huddly® Crew™ (including the name!). This plug-and-play USB innovation captures participants from multiple angles, with real-time AI editing powered by Huddly Director.

You can choose Speaker Mode to keep the speaker in full focus, or Collaboration Mode for interactive teamwork.

For larger spaces like boardrooms, the system is modular and easy to expand—simply plug in additional cameras, and they automatically sync.

The result? A premium, immersive experience that brings virtual meetings even closer to in-person interactions.

4. Next level conference units

For those who want to take meeting equality to the next level, conference units are the way forward. These go beyond 360° views by providing a personal unit for every boardroom participant.

The Televic uniCOS CORE is an all-in-one solution, featuring an integrated camera, video display, microphone, and onboard speaker.

This isn’t just about equality for remote participants—it ensures an optimal experience for everyone in the boardroom as well. The units are designed for playing videos or presentations, electronic voting, and managing agendas or documents.

5. Hello Audio

Let’s not forget about audio! ISE certainly didn’t. Good audio is essential. Perfect audio is what makes a boardroom truly functional—for welcoming clients and making crucial decisions.

For users, audio should be dead simple. Save the challenges for the manufacturers (and us)—we’re seeing more and more high-quality, flexible solutions emerging.

Every type of audio needs to be seamlessly integrated, whether it’s a participant dialling in via smartphone or a video playing in the boardroom that's being heard remotely.

A new generation of ceiling speakers maximises limited ceiling space.

Ceiling space is also shared with ceiling microphones, often used for presenter tracking.

Amplifiers are becoming more compact. Some no longer need to be rack-mounted—they can be installed directly in the boardroom.

For a premium experience, immersive audio is gaining traction.

The possibilities and innovations are endless. And for us, that means doing what we love most: collaborating with users to design the perfect solution they’re looking for.
