AV-as-a-Service (AVaaS). That would be us, as a service.

AVaaS

XaaS could mean “almost-anything-you-like-as-a-service.” It’s a model that’s reshaping how we think about technology. When AV and IT are more connected than ever, the question isn’t if AV will become a service, but why wouldn’t you want it that way?

In our AV Lab, we experiment not only with hardware and software, but also with formulas: AVaaS formulas. The idea is simple: for a fixed monthly fee, you get a fully managed AV solution.

Hardware, software, services, everything is included. Design tailored to your team, IT infrastructure and building. Installation. Remote monitoring. Proactive maintenance. Tech refresh cycles and updates. Support. And, if needed, flexible upgrades on demand.

Why as a service?

The beauty of this model is that your AV environment is always up to date. End users instantly have access to he latest technology, replacement over time is typically built in, and before long you’ll have forgotten what “downtime” even means.

Moreover, with new product liability rules on the horizon, software and AI will increasingly be treated as products, and accountability will extend to many more parties. By offering AV as a service, providers take responsibility upfront.

What are the advantages of AVaaS?

  • Financial predictability. Budgeting gets easier. You know exactly what you’ll pay each month. If you choose to expand your integration, you instantly know how it impacts both performance and costs. This is especially useful in hybrid or multi-site environments.
  • Built-in flexibility. Fast rollout and deployment come with the package. It’s an agile system, often with upgrade options available whenever you need them.
  • Next-level user adoption. You create a consistent, user-friendly AV experience across your organisation, boosting both adoption and usage of the AV capabilities.
  • Delivered by AV experts. From integration to maintenance and monitoring, everything is managed by specialists. This approach is the most sustainable, lowers the risk of data loss, and maximises uptime and responsiveness. Meanwhile, your in-house IT team can focus on performance monitoring and… IT.
  • Powered by automation. By centralising systems and using automated alerts (with AI in the mix), downtime is reduced even further. Tools scan daily for glitches outside of working hours and issues are detected before anyone notices a problem, or has to file a support ticket.

The challenges

Everyone knows change comes with effort. Migrating an existing AV infrastructure requires careful planning.

  • It’s technically complex.
  • As with SaaS, you won’t be the owner of the displays, cameras, projectors or speakers.
  • And with remote monitoring and cloud-based data, security becomes a hot topic.

That’s why you need a rock-solid partner, one who thinks strategically with you, offers clear SLAs, and stands by you for the long haul.

At Whitemilk, we’re working hard to be that kind of partner. But to deliver on that promise, we too rely on strong, stable partnerships. So we’re still exploring, talking, listening, and putting our systems to the test.

Our first projects are running – built on the bespoke AV solutions we’ve been delivering for over 30 years.

More to come…

Guess the X

Meeting Room as a Service, with plug-and-play cameras, speakers, microphones and software. Fully managed, proactive technology that redefines what a meeting room can be.

Digital signage or display as a service.

Platform as a Service, in our case for AV control and automation. Think IP-based control platforms.

Infrastructure as a Service: virtual servers, networking, storage…

Models as a Service: pre-trained AI/ML models used by data scientists. High-tech cognitive services.

Desktop as a Service for remote workers (but it can also mean: Data as a Service).

Did you know?

At some point, your technology will need replacing. Then come the rules around what to do with your old equipment, as sustainably as possible. It’s a cost that’s often overlooked. With AVaaS, it’s included.
